@ Growler: tapes and CDs from Ethiopia! Crooning in Amharic, the official language of Ethiopia, great synth beats and a pop-sensibility that isn’t comparable! These tapes are a great grab bag experience at $5 each. They were provided by Haimanot, the proprietress of Arada restaurant (750 Santa Fe Dr), which has amazing samosas and Ethiopian honey wine (house-made!)
